The Position

The Project Engineer plays a vital role in designing and managing a variety of civil engineering projects including roads, water and sewer systems, and other infrastructure projects.

Qualifications and Skills

• Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite and/or AutoCAD/Civil 3D

• Knowledge of engineering principles, methods, and regulations related to public works projects

• Strong project management and organizational skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies

• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities

Typical Duties

• Assist in designing and managing civil engineering projects from planning through construction

• Conduct detailed analysis, design, and drafting of infrastructure systems, including roads, water and sewer systems, and other infrastructure projects

• Perform calculations, technical reviews, and evaluations to ensure designs meet local, state, and federal regulations

• Prepare written reports and communicate effectively with others

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop project solutions

• Perform inspections to ensure construction work is in compliance with project documents

Ideal Qualifications

• Four-year college degree in civil engineering or a related field

• 3 to 5 years of increasingly responsible professional engineering experience

• Valid California Class C driver's license.

• Possession of a Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to obtain license within two (2) years of employment 

• Be a team player in a small office environment

Annual Salary

$105,000 - $125,500 per year
